Tart Cherry (Montmorency cherry) is a nutrient-dense fruit rich in antioxidants, particularly anthocyanins, and is one of the few natural food sources of melatonin. It has gained popularity as a supplement for sleep support and exercise recovery.
Research shows tart cherry can increase melatonin levels, improve sleep quality, and reduce exercise-induced inflammation and soreness. It is available as juice, concentrate, or capsules. The juice and concentrate forms are most commonly studied.
