Cordyceps is a genus of medicinal mushrooms that has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for centuries. The most studied species is Cordyceps militaris, which is now cultivated commercially (wild Cordyceps sinensis is extremely rare and expensive).
Cordyceps is valued for its potential to support energy production, athletic performance, respiratory health, and immune function. It contains unique compounds like cordycepin and adenosine that may influence cellular energy (ATP) production.
