Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) is a powerful antioxidant naturally produced by the body. It is highly concentrated in the heart, liver, and kidneys — organs with the highest energy demands. CoQ10 plays a critical role in producing cellular energy (ATP) and protecting cells from oxidative damage.
CoQ10 levels naturally decline with age, and certain medications (especially statins) can further reduce levels. This is why we frequently recommended CoQ10 to customers taking cholesterol medication in our physical store.
Supports cellular energy production in the heart. Often recommended for those on statin medications, which can deplete CoQ10 levels.
Plays a key role in the electron transport chain, helping convert food into usable energy (ATP) in every cell.
Helps protect cells from oxidative stress and supports the recycling of other antioxidants like vitamin E.
CoQ10 is very safe with an excellent safety profile. Ubiquinol form is better absorbed, especially for older adults.
Strong evidence supports CoQ10 for heart health and statin-related muscle issues. The Q-SYMBIO randomized double-blind trial found that long-term CoQ10 supplementation in chronic heart failure patients reduced major adverse cardiovascular events and improved symptoms. Other studies show benefits for energy production and antioxidant protection, especially as we age.
